Summer Hours: 10-3 Monday-Saturday. Closed on Sundays.
Open for the season through to July 31st.
Although we are not a mail order greenhouse, we know that many experienced, new to the area, and just getting started gardeners like to plan ahead and come out with a list of possibilities in hand. Our Availability List Pages provide pictures along with cultural information so gardeners can familiarize themselves with the plants we plan to offer through the season. We also feature "Weekly Specials" that will be posted online and feature plants that are scheduled to be ready and are best for planting at the time they are being offered. Our goal is to have customers make more than just one or two visits out to the greenhouse through to the end of July.
Gaillardia 'Mesa Yellow', Coreopsis 'Sunfire', and Rudbeckia 'Denver Daisy'
These annuals were selected based on their tolerance to both, our chilly spring weather and hot, windy conditions through summer. They are also deer-resistant. Each grow to about 20 inches tall and were planted with three plants per pot so they will fill out nicely @$5.99 per 5.5" pot.
Other deer-resistant, upright annuals that add height and a vertical element include:
Salvia 'Hot Lips' and Snapdragons in mixed colors
Fillers and spillers include: Gazania'Tiger Mix' and Portulacca 'Sundial Mix' available in 3.5" pots @$1.49.
Easy Wave White 3.5"Pot@$1.49
The "original" Purple Wave® Petunia
These amazing plants have wowed gardeners since the early nineties and are unbeatable for vigor and flower power. Besides their flower power, these petunias broke the mold when it comes to deadheading. The flowers are so prolific and just a tad smaller making them, like Calibrachoas, "self-cleaning" and you don't have to be an experienced gardener to make these plants look great!
These plants are easy to transplant in ground or into your favorite container garden. We also have them in ready-to-enjoy hanging gardens, upright container gardens, and in tabletop colorbowls. These petunias are what customers ask for by name, so we'll be sure to have them available through the season. To find out more, head to the Wave Petunias Website.

Colorscapes Greenhouse has been growing Proven Winners® since 2002 and continue to be impressed with the vigor and all season blooms displayed by this outstanding brand. Like Waves, these plants are also heavy feeders and will do best with an every third watering feeding with a water soluble fertilizer, like MiracleGrow®.

We are often asked if we reuse the potting mix in our container gardens when planting our home containers. The answer is yes, we do. Container mix includes a balanced mix of peatmoss (for holding water) and perlite (for draining excess water) and is too expensive to toss at the end of the growing season. We do trim finished annuals to the top of the mix and let the pots sit out over winter. Prior to planting in spring, we do find it helpfull to: aerate the mix, topdress with fresh mix, and wet down the mix the day before planting. After planting our container gardens we topdress with a slow-release fertilizer. Most of our container gardens are big, 20 inches accross or more, so they hold water for two-three days even through the heat of summer. The container mix we use and offer for sale also includes Soil Moist, a polymer that increases water holding capacity.
